Her event brands Jump & Joy Party Rentals and Signature Tents & Events have donated their services to support local churches’ efforts in assisting citizens affected by Hurricane Harvey. Today, Meli is extending her community outreach efforts through the Meli Cares community savings card program.
The Meli Cares program invites local business owners to offer local police officers, firefighters, paramedics, educators, and community service members discounts on various offerings. The recipient of a Meli Cares card will have their card verified with a valid badge or ID at the time of purchase, and the discount will be applied immediately to their overall balance.
The Inspiration For Meli Cares
Three years ago, Meli Jean was approached by her Operations Manager to discuss what could be done for a local community event being held by the county Emergency Services Department. The community event included over 80 agencies that protect and serve Harris County, Fort Bend County, and Waller County. The budget was a key concern as funds would be the deciding factor in selecting which offerings would be made available to the community.
The gathering of agencies acted as a springboard for other communities around the state to begin hosting similar events. The goal remained the same; protecting the community while empowering citizens to make safety a priority in their daily lives. Our program aims to encourage our surrounding communities to promote safety, empowerment, education, and charity.
